Last year, developer Steve Bendat set a record when he sold 2914 Washington Road in West Palm Beach for $11.5 million, making it the most-expensive single-family home ever sold in West Palm Beach. Now he’s looking to shatter his old record with his newest project, a 14,700-square-foot modern mansion listed earlier this month for $17.75 million.

The six-bedroom, 13-bath estate, at 6717 S. Flagler Drive, is currently the most-expensive listed single-family home on the market in West Palm Beach, according to Burt Minkoff, a senior director of luxury sales at Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Palm Beach, who holds the listing.

Newly constructed by Bendat’s Aquantis Group, a West Palm Beach-based firm that develops, designs and builds luxury waterfront estates, the three-story home, within its own walled compound, has some unique features, such as a floating glass staircase, two elevators, a theater room, gym, private guest house, home office, four-car air-conditioned garage and a rooftop terrace. It also can run completely on solar power.

“Given all of the amenities in this one house, it’s like living in a private resort,” said Minkoff. “You have so many choices to do things that you’d have to go out to do if you lived in a regular house. It’s the perfect house to live in and not get bored.”

The estate, just across the street from the Intracoastal Waterway, also has features to make it storm resistant. It was built with extra-large footers, reinforced steel, concrete floors, concrete-filled block and impact glass and has a whole-house generator.

Additional features include a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, multiple fireplaces, an infinity-edge pool with spa and waterfall, an outdoor kitchen and a private dock.

“When the sun sets and you’re on Flagler Drive looking east, the entire island of Palm Beach glows,” said Minkoff. “It’s incredibly beautiful.”
